Laboratory tests have revealed the following: absence of immunoglobulins of any type; naked cells are absent from the lymph nodes punctate. What kind of immune disorder is it?

Answer options

  1. Hypoplastic anemia
  2. X-linked hypogammaglobulinemia (Bruton type agammaglobulinemia)
  3. Agranulocytosis
  4. Louis-Barr syndrome
  5. Autosomal recessive agammaglobulinaemia (Swiss type)
Correct answer

X-linked hypogammaglobulinemia (Bruton type agammaglobulinemia)

Explanation

The absence of Ig removes "Hypoplastic anemia", "Agranulocytosis" and "Louis-Barr syndrome". Bruton’s type is just a deficiency of humoral immunity (B lymphocytes). So the symptoms are less severe than Swiss-type which is a deficiency of both humoral and cellular immunity. The patient will start showing symptoms for like 5 months.
